Callie Trammell
Medical Assistant
Callie Trammell is a Medical Assistant at Clarus Surgery who plays a key role in coordinating patient care before and throughout the surgical process. She supports both patients and providers by managing scheduling, triaging patients, documenting medical information, and ensuring all necessary testing, lab work, and surgical clearances are completed ahead of procedures.
Callie works closely with the clinical team to streamline communication between patients and providers, helping ensure that every patient feels prepared, informed, and supported from consultation through surgery.
Callie brings a strong foundation in customer service across multiple industries, along with eight years of experience at UAB Medicine supporting various units and clinics. Her ability to communicate effectively, anticipate needs, and stay organized in fast-paced environments has shaped her approach to patient care. Encouraged by Clinical Coordinator Ellen Pitt, she stepped into this role and continues to grow within a team that values development and continuous improvement.
Callie approaches her work with patience, communication, and empathy, believing every patient deserves care delivered with kindness and respect. By ensuring every detail is organized ahead of surgery, she helps create a smooth, well-prepared experience for both patients and providers. She finds the greatest reward in hearing a patient’s sense of relief after feeling heard and supported.
Outside of work, Callie enjoys reading and cooking as a way to unwind. She’s a fan of the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas and enjoys playing video games, often keeping her Nintendo Switch close by. Having lived in Boston, one of her favorite cities, and traveled to Key West, she hopes to one day ski in the Swiss Alps. She values work-life balance by giving her full focus during the day and stepping away with a sense of accomplishment, guided by the mindset: “Somebody has to do it, why not you?”
