After briefly retiring, Ellen joined Clarus Surgery at the invitation of Dr. Porterfield—drawn by the opportunity to combine her lifelong passion for nursing with a practice that reflects her values of compassion and connection.
Ellen’s approach to patient care is guided by empathy, connection, and clinical excellence. She believes great care extends beyond procedures—it’s about understanding each patient’s story and guiding them with compassion and confidence through every stage of treatment. With decades of nursing experience, she combines technical precision with genuine care, ensuring patients feel safe, informed, and supported throughout their journey.
Outside of work, Ellen enjoys long walks with her husband and dog, reading historical mysteries, and visiting her two adult daughters who live out of state. She is guided by her favorite reminder, “This too shall pass,” which inspires her to find balance, gratitude, and perspective in all aspects of life.
