“Dr. Porterfield came highly recommended for my mom’s parathyroid surgery. He specializes in this and performs this surgery several hundred times per year, which is very important due to the surgery’s close proximity to the vocal cords and airways. His bedside manner was great, and he actually came out to the waiting area and sat down for several minutes and talked with dad and me after the surgery. He also called us a few days later, and again a couple of weeks later, just to make sure everything was Okay. His lead nurse is also very thorough and friendly with the pre-op. Worth mentioning, you will have swelling and some blood/fluid ooze for a few weeks post surgery. They tell you this during pre-op.”
